Job description

We are looking for a dedicated individual to be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the physical and virtual components of the company’s IT infrastructure. Additionally, this position will involve providing technical support to employees across multiple locations., * Monitor and maintain the company’s network, servers, and endpoints.

  • Troubleshoot system hardware, software, operating and system management systems.
  • Ensure system security through the application of preventative measures.
  • Create and manage backup and recovery policies.
  • Monitor and enhance IT Infrastructure and network performance.
  • Plan and execute the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of PC and server hardware, software, LAN and WAN networks, and operating and system management systems.
  • Prepare users by designing and conducting training programs.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Organizational skills?, This individual must have a valid Driver’s license. This position requires travel between REMC locations. Must be able to respond to after-hour calls within one hour. Participates in weekly safety meetings and ongoing training.

Successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal, listening, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills, coupled with an attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments. Prefer someone with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additionally, the following knowledge, skills and abilities are desired:

  • Proven work experience as an IT Infrastructure Technician or similar role.
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with common software and hardware.
  • Experience with system installation, configuration and analysis.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components.
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.

This individual must reside either 30 minutes’ drive away or live in the Cherryville Office.
