Software Test Automation Expert

Experteer Overview As a Test Automation Expert, you guide test automation across software applications, services, and edge computing solutions to improve quality and delivery velocity. You will shape automation strategies, select frameworks, and implement scalable test solutions for web apps, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native platforms. You act as a technical reference, coach teams, and embed quality practices throughout the software lifecycle. This role supports space programs and digital projects within a dynamic Luxembourg engineering ecosystem. You’ll have a meaningful impact by increasing test coverage, reducing manual testing, and accelerating release readiness. Pay / Benefits * Act as technical reference for test automation and guide teams on automation practices * Define automation strategies aligned with requirements, risks, and delivery needs * Analyze and automate testing to improve coverage and reduce feedback cycles * Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for web apps, APIs, and distributed/cloud-native platforms * Define test execution strategies across dev, integration, validation, staging and production-like environments * Support test environments, data, mocks, and simulators * Collaborate with architects and engineers to improve testability and product quality * Integrate automated verification and security checks into the delivery lifecycle * Ensure tests are reliable, maintainable, and traceable * Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines for fast quality feedback * Analyze results, diagnose failures, and support root cause analysis * Define and monitor automation metrics and promote testing practices * Support proposals, reviews, workshops, and quality assessments with test automation expertise * Evaluate emerging testing technologies and maintain documentation on strategies and results Tasks * Min. 7 years in software testing, incl. at least 4 years hands-on automation * Proven ability to define and implement automation strategies for complex systems * Strong knowledge of testing concepts, levels, types, risk-based testing, and defect management * Experience designing and maintaining test automation frameworks * Automation experience for modern web apps (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Robot Framework) * API testing with Postman, REST-assured, Python-based frameworks * Automation across distributed components and CI/CD integration * BDD/Cucumber/Gherkin or equivalent * Performance/load testing concepts and tools (JMeter, Gatling, k6) * Strong Python programming; JavaScript/TypeScript for web automation * Understanding of React/Go/Rust/Python applications * CI/CD tools: GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions * Git workflows, artefact management, release processes * Containerized environments: Docker, Kubernetes * SQL and NoSQL databases and test data management * HTTP, REST, asynchronous messaging, distributed system behavior * Root cause analysis and automation ROI assessment * Clear technical communication; coaching and knowledge sharing * English and French proficiency; ISTQB certification or equivalent Key requirements * competitive remuneration package * mobility policy * flexibility in work arrangements
