Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to support mission-critical operations in a secure environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining enterprise-level networks. This role requires someone who can ensure high availability, scalability, and security across classified and unclassified systems., * Design, configure, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures (LAN, WAN, VPN, VoIP, firewalls, and routing protocols).
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, ensuring optimal uptime and security posture.
- Implement network segmentation, security controls, and compliance with DoD/IC standards.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, cybersecurity teams, and program managers to ensure mission success.
- Support network modernization initiatives, including cloud integration and automation.
- Document network configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide Tier III support for complex network incidents and escalations.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Technical troubleshooting support?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, Clearance Requirement: Active Full-Scope Polygraph clearance (must be valid in the State of Maryland), * Active Full-Scope Polygraph clearance (Maryland-valid, no exceptions).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer supporting enterprise or government environments.
- Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS).
- Experience with network security tools and appliances (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Juniper, Firepower, IDS/IPS).
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Splunk, Wireshark, etc.).
- Familiarity with DoD/IC security standards (STIGs, RMF).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment., * Industry certifications: CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, Security+, CISSP, or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).
- Automation/scripting knowledge (Python, Ansible).
- Experience with SDN or Zero Trust network architectures.
- Bonus: Experience with Apache NiFi for secure dataflow automation and integration.
