Job description
An organization supporting Intelligence Community missions is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer (MBSE) to provide enterprise-wide systems engineering and integration support. The selected candidate will apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering practices to define system architectures, manage interfaces, and ensure end-to-end traceability of requirements to technical solutions. This role supports complex, mission-critical systems and involves developing and maintaining system models, performing computer-based simulations, and collaborating closely with government, military, SETA, and contractor stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions., * Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to support system architecture definition, integration, and analysis
- Develop, maintain, and analyze SysML-based system models using Cameo Systems Modeler or equivalent tools
- Ensure requirements traceability from customer needs through system design and verification artifacts
- Utilize digital engineering tool chains to enhance design, integration, and test workflows
- Conduct computer-based simulations to analyze and optimize system performance
- Support interface definition and management across system elements and external dependencies
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Government, Military, SETA, and contractor teams
- Contribute to technical reviews, impact assessments, and engineering documentation
- Support project planning, execution, and risk management activities across program lifecycles
Requirements
- Practical experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles
- Hands-on experience with Cameo Systems Modeler or equivalent MBSE tools
- Familiarity with Digital Engineering practices and integrated tool chains
- Experience using high-level programming languages (e.g., Python)
- Demonstrated engineering technical depth and project management experience
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary, customer-facing environments
- Active and transferable TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (required prior to start date)
- U.S. Citizenship required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with systems installation, integration, and test activities
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming languages
- Experience conducting Request for Change (RFC) impact reviews and assessments
- Familiarity with NSIS requirements and rapid delivery methodologies
- Evidence of strong customer relationships and stakeholder engagement
- Experience working across multiple contracts and geographic locations
- Proficiency with Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, and collaborative engineering tools
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred)
- Minimum experience requirements:
- 6 - 8 years of prior engineering experience
