Senior Cloud Architect

Experteer Overview In this role you will serve as the technical authority for enterprise cloud operations in TS/SCI environments. You will own Landing Zone design, security posture, and readiness, while steering ATO processes and secure cloud solutions across air-gapped and hybrid setups. You’ll collaborate with government stakeholders, national labs, and CSPs to deliver mission-critical capabilities and drive secure, cost-efficient cloud delivery. This position offers impact shaping secure cloud architectures at scale with cross-domain and AI/LLM initiatives. Compensation / Benefits * Own enterprise Landing Zone design and security posture for TS/SCI enclaves * Lead ATO gap analyses and remediation aligned to NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and agency controls * Architect and oversee secure air-gapped AWS environments with hybrid connectivity * Develop automated cyber monitoring, anomaly detection, and alerting for cloud infra and network activity * Provide technical leadership for AI/LLM deployments in classified clouds, including governance and lifecycle management * Drive cloud optimization to improve cost, performance, and mission delivery * Design backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions for large-scale data * Create IaC frameworks for provisioning, compliance, and ops efficiency * Coordinate with government agencies, national labs, CSPs, and contractors as technical lead * Support DevOps and CI/CD for microservices, including container orchestration and monitoring * Mentor and lead cloud engineer teams to foster excellence Tasks * 12+ years with BS/BA; 10+ years with MS/MA; 7+ years with PhD; 16+ years with HS diploma * 3+ years in classified, air-gapped, or disconnected cloud environments * Strong knowledge of NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and ATO processes * Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, or equivalent) * Experience with Docker, Jenkins, GitHub, and CI/CD pipeline design * Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams and engage senior government stakeholders * Strong cloud security understanding including zero-trust, encryption, and IAM * Bachelor’s degree in CS, IS, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) Key requirements * discretionary bonus * overtime eligibility * shift differential (where applicable)
