Our blog tells you a bit more about what we do and how we do it. descriptionAn expert in the design and implementation of SAP-based Financial and Management Accounting systems and services. You will be a primary point of contact for our Chief Finance Office, supporting Corporate Treasury, Corporate Finance - Accounting Operations, Internal Audit, Government Banking and where required lead on wider Finance initiatives. RoleYour role will be to provide leadership and direction to product teams across a programme or portfolio of work. As Lead Product Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to work on some of the largest digital transformation programmes undertaken in Government and other sectors. Working in partnership with Chief Financial Officer (CFO) stakeholders and leadership team to build a business and technology strategy for the Finance business. You will focus on End-to-end business service delivery and operations for Finance; understanding holistic business requirements, handling all associated build and run activity, collaborating with other IT functions, and aligning with end-to-end IT service management. Ensure that security, compliance and other governance requirements are built into the core of any new/changed services and conform with over-arching security, risk and governance frameworks and standards. Be instrumental in the future roadmap, working with suppliers and CDIO colleagues to help transform HMRC Finance/Commercial systems. Working with other government departments or companies who use SAP FICO (or equivalents), learning from collaborative working and sharing best practice. Leadership of multi-disciplinary agile teams, forming the vision for your products and engaging your team and stakeholders in the development of that vision over time. You will use your knowledge of user needs and business goals to frame problems and set priorities for your team. You will devise and iterate your product roadmap and backlog and be a champion for user needs - ensuring user needs are at the heart of your product design and delivery. Provide support to all product managers in the organisation. They have expert product management skills and are required to coach others to increase professionalism. They work with other communities and organisation management to represent community interests. They oversee every member of the community, their role, their assignments, development, pay and performance. They manage hiring, development, moves and exits from the community, covering civil servants and contractors. They line manage senior and lead product mangers.Responsibilities* Create the vision, strategy, roadmap and value proposition for a programme or portfolio of digital services, creating achievable and measurable objectives for a portfolio digital services based on transformation programme goals using a user centred approach.

  • Set product priorities, strategic direction and leadership for a programme or portfolio of products in a transformation programme, create and iterate programme-level roadmaps, setting KPI’s and performance measures for success.
  • Act as an escalation point for product managers and service teams.
  • Lead engagement with Senior Directors, Senior Civil Servants and stakeholders to shape and influence delivery activity and governance.
  • Ensure the correct placement and assignment of product managers, line manage, coach and mentor, responsible for increasing capability and ensuring product management standards are met.
  • Lead creation of strategic roadmaps, business cases, funding forecasts and delivery plans to define pipeline of future work in CDIO.
  • Work with Head of Product around recruitment, retention and upskilling of product managers in HMRC, to define standards and best practice for Product Managers.
  • Provide analysis of business requirements, providing SAP SME input to solution designs promoting data and process standards.
  • Key contribution in developing SAP Application and digital transformation roadmap, coordinate product development to identify re-use of components and patterns across services.
  • Ensure designs are fit for purpose, deliver value for money and meet both business requirements and architecture blueprints.

Requirements

Essential Criteria:* SME level SAP product and hands on knowledge of either Finance, FICO, PS, FM and S/4 HANA at application layer and SAP SaaS products such as Ariba, Knowledge and expertise in integration including SAP Cloud Platform, SAP PI and SAP solution manager and SAP ILM.

  • Responsibility for assurance of large SAP (and other business specific applications) estates serving different parts of large organisations.
  • Minimum 2 full SAP life cycle programme implementation experience in the finance, consumer goods, telecoms, public sector or engineering sector (other sectors be considered).
  • Evidence of operating in a SAP functional governance capacity as part of product experience to drive process re-use, process simplification and data management effectiveness.
  • Validated leadership experience detailing your ability to empower, support and develop staff.
  • A broad IT background specifically experience of working in a senior IT role within a large scale multi source development environment with a range of delivery partners.
  • Responsibility of playing a key role in setting organisational objectives influencing policy, leading on technical and business change.
  • Demonstrable ability to work with business and technology partners to translate business problems into technical designs.
  • Excellent collaborative and communication skills including proven ability at a strategic level to influence wide ranging stakeholder community, including senior stakeholders.
  • Commercial experience in negotiating supplier contract management based on capability. Desirable Criteria:* Analysing complex multi-dimensional requirements, mapping to technical design/architecture. Ability to think at abstract, strategic levels relating this to the practical needs of software engineers.
