Platform Engineer - Security

• You have expert experience with Go, Helm, and a strong architectural background.\n
• You have worked extensively with Kubernetes.\n
• You are an experienced Linux user.\n
• You are comfortable using AI tooling as part of the development process.\n
• You deploy to production multiple times a day, and love to automate all the things.\n
• You are comfortable building and working with distributed systems - you prefer to build your applications as multiple services instead of a single monolith.\n
• You are able to comfortably align parts of your workday with Europe (UTC +/- 2 hours). We offer flexible working hours, but have team members and customers across time zones, and you will need to be able to regularly communicate with them.\n
• The Team is currently mostly US based, so a preference towards being able to work later in the afternoon/early evening as required.\n
• Bonus points if you have meaningful experience with Kubernetes security tooling, have ever maintained an open-source security project, are/were an incident responder, or have worked in a “blue team” role.\n

You will help design and build security features, tooling, and processes for a mature, battle-tested Kubernetes and AI infrastructure platform. \n Our platform includes an entirely open-source security solution in our suite of managed services, and a successful candidate will join us in building Kubernetes and AI security tooling and continuously improving our security posture. We work directly with the platform engineering teams of our customers to manage and secure their workloads. In this role, you would join our security team and work on integrating open-source security tools into our managed security service, hardening our Kubernetes clusters, and enabling customers and other teams to be secure by default. \n \n

• You will be responsible for architecting and building distributed systems, as part of our managed Kubernetes offering.\n
• You will build Kubernetes Operators, MCP servers, and orchestration tools for popular applications.\n
• You will use, support, and become a key expert in a variety of technologies from across the open-source community, including Falco, Trivy, Kubescape, Kyverno, SPIFFE/SPIRE, Prometheus, and Flatcar Linux.\n
• This is not a support role, but you will regularly interact with customers to investigate issues, learn about their use cases, and provide expert guidance for the things you build.\n
• You will take part in an on-call rotation, as part of our ‘you build it, you run it’ philosophy. This includes improving operations, such as adding metrics, or building dashboards.\n
• You will have the opportunity to participate in company “blue team” activities, like compliance, vulnerability management, and security incident response, if you desire.\n
