Job description

Under the direction of the Application Development Manager, this position performs routine to moderately complex (journeylevel) computer programming work. Build and customize solutions using Microsoft Power Apps and other Power Platform tools to meet business needs. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement., Design, develop and integrate Power Platform apps and related technologies with data sources such as SharePoint, Dataverse, Oracle, and Excel. Support automation workflows using Power Automate.

Requirements

Graduation from High School or GED.

Current enrollment in Austin Community College with a major or course work in information technology, computer science, or a related field.

NOTE: Students applying for this position must possess academic performance that is considered in good academic standing by college/university standards.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

Basic experience building Canvas and Model applications using Power Apps and Power Automate.

Exposure to Power BI, Power Pages, Dataverse, RPA, and Copilot through coursework, personal projects, or training.

Familiarity with basic coding (JavaScript, Python, JSON, SQL, C#, etc.) from academic, professional, or selflearning experience., Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of programming and systems analysis.

Knowledge of computer operations procedures and systems; and computer programming languages.

Knowledge of basic understanding of Power Apps and Power Automate with a willingness to learn quickly.

Knowledge of data modeling.

Skill in problem solving, in critical thinking, and computer programming.

Skill in the use of hardware and software, and in modifying or developing software for applications.

Skill in learning and working with Microsoft Power Apps and the Power Platform.

Skill in problemsolving and communication skills.

Ability to process information logically.

Ability to design programs and systems logic.

Ability to prepare program specifications.

Ability to code, test, and debug software.

Ability to interpret technical information related to programming and other areas of data processing.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to work through technical challenges, learning objectives, and troubleshoot issues during development., Required to pass a national fingerprintbased background check to maintain employment.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and maintain that authorization throughout employment.

Must conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules, and safety procedures.

May be required to travel outoftown 5% with possible overnight stays with advanced notice.

Benefits & conditions

Apprenticeship work week schedule to be mutually determined by supervisor and intern.

Work location is at TPWD Austin Headquarters, 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
