- Design, manage, and optimize virtualized infrastructure platforms to ensure performance, availability, and scalability.
- Lead modernization initiatives, transforming legacy platforms into modern, cloud-aligned or hybrid architectures.
- Define and execute technology roadmaps to reduce technical debt and improve operational resilience.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation and standardization using tools like Ansible and Terraform.
- Develop and implement automation and orchestration strategies with Ansible Tower and Autosys.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to embed reliability and observability into system design.
- Provide design and senior-level engineering support for the Private Cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure platforms meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Support capacity planning, performance optimization, and disaster recovery strategies, including VMware Live Site Recovery.
Requirements
We are seeking a Virtualization Lead to drive modernization and efficiency within our virtualization infrastructure. This role involves designing, managing, and optimizing virtualized platforms to ensure performance, availability, and scalability. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer with a strategic mindset, capable of leading change and contributing to the design and architecture of new projects., * A minimum of 8 years of related experience in systems engineering.
- A proven background in server virtualization planning and design, primarily with VMware (vSphere, VCF).
- Experience modernizing legacy environments and implementing target-state architectures.
- Hands-on involvement in design, architecture, and strategic planning.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Ansible Tower.
- Knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and ESXi operating systems.
- Experience with disaster recovery solutions like VMware Site Recovery Manager (VMware Live Site Recovery).
- Understanding of storage technologies and HP hardware platforms.
- Knowledge of networking principles (Layer 2 and Layer 3).
- Experience with Windows and Linux environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree.
- Experience with VMware in both public and private cloud environments.
- Knowledge of monitoring, telemetry, and observability practices.
