Job description

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Provide technical leadership and coordinate development teams across different regions and time zones.
Design and develop scalable Microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka.
Build and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS.
Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.
Drive code quality through code reviews, engineering best practices, and automated testing.
Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolution of technical challenges.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, QA, DevOps, and distributed engineering teams.
Manage technical dependencies and coordinate development activities across onshore/offshore teams.
Mentor developers and provide technical guidance to the engineering team.
Contribute to CI/CD, automation, DevOps practices, and Agile/Scrum delivery.

Requirements

12+ years of experience in Java backend development, including experience in a Technical Lead role.
Strong expertise in Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security.
Extensive experience with Microservices, REST APIs, and Apache Kafka.
Strong knowledge of AWS - EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, API Gateway, SNS, and SQS.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD.
Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL/NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB.
Experience with Redis or similar caching technologies.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, multithreading, concurrency, and performance tuning.
Excellent debugging, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working with geographically distributed teams and coordinating delivery across multiple regions/time zones.
