Job description
Experteer Overview As Platform Engineer, you design, build, and run Ascend’s Azure cloud platform to support production and development environments for our analytics products. You collaborate with development, model support, and client teams to migrate clients from on-premises to Azure while maintaining security and compliance. You automate and document everything, and you communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This role offers exposure to scale, security, and a mission-driven energy transition in a high-growth SaaS setting. Compensation / Benefits * Design, deploy, and maintain Azure resources (VMs, App Services, container apps, storage, Key Vault, etc.). * Build and manage Azure networking (VNets, VPNs, private endpoints, NAT, Front Door). * Develop and maintain Terraform-based infrastructure as code via Azure DevOps pipelines. * Configure Azure Virtual Desktop for analysts and developers, including images and scale plans. * Maintain backup, monitoring, and alerting for dev and prod environments. * Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps with service connections and identity credentials. * Support migration of build/test workloads from on-premises to Azure. * Administer Entra ID (Azure AD) with provisioning, conditional access, MFA, SSO, app registrations, and secret monitoring. * Manage Privileged Identity Management (PIM) and access reviews. * Provide platform security tooling (Microsoft Defender for Endpoint) and support SOC 2 Type II audits. * Assist with client onboarding, VPN connectivity, and third-party integrations. * Act as escalation point for platform incidents and maintain platform documentation and diagrams. * Lead internal cross-training on Azure architecture and provide weekly status updates. Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (related field). * AZ-104 or equivalent intermediate Azure certificate. * 4+ years in cloud platform, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering with 3+ years hands-on Azure experience. * Strong knowledge of Azure IaaS and PaaS (VMs, App Services, Storage, Key Vault, Container Apps, Azure Batch). * Terraform and infrastructure-as-code proficiency. * Azure networking experience (VNet design, VPN gateways, private endpoints, NAT, DNS, firewall rules). * Entra ID administration (conditional access, MFA, SSO, app registrations, PIM). * PowerShell and KQL for automation and reporting. * Experience building CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps. * Ability to document clearly and communicate with non-technical stakeholders. * Azure certifications: AZ-104 or equivalent.
