Experteer Overview In this role you will architect and secure DoD cloud and network environments, leading a multidisciplinary team to deliver scalable, compliant solutions across IL 4/5 environments. You will collaborate with government partners and cross-functional teams to drive secure, DevOps-enabled deployments in hybrid cloud settings, including both on-site and SCIF work. This position combines hands-on engineering with strategic leadership and proposal development, shaping mission-critical AI and cloud initiatives. You will work to balance security, performance, and cost while advancing DoD IT delivery. Compensation / Benefits * Architect, configure, and manage secure DoD environments * Monitor and manage security compliance, remediations, and patch management for unclassified environments * Lead a team of multidisciplinary engineers * Install, test, maintain, and upgrade network OS software/hardware to DoD requirements * Implement and maintain security and user access controls (ICAM, Firewalls, Proxies) * Lead risk mitigation activities (Assessment and Authorization, continuous monitoring, vulnerability/configuration management) * Evaluate customer issues and inform technology/delivery strategy * Thrive in hybrid on-site/remote work with occasional SCIF visits * Communicate with customers, program managers, partners, and leadership * Contribute to new business capture and proposal development * Track industry trends to drive innovation across domains * Collaborate with operations, tech, and business development managers on large solutions Tasks * U.S. Citizen * Active DoD Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain/maintain Top Secret SCI * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related STEM field * Active DoD 8140 Certification: IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+) * CLF-C02 AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner * SAA-C03 AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate * Hybrid work ability (up to 3 onsite days/week in Fairfax, VA) * Travel willingness (CONUS and OCONUS) * 10+ years of relevant experience * 6+ years IT platform fundamentals * 5+ years delivering and sustaining cloud/technical solutions and leading teams * 5+ years customer-facing cloud projects (AWS preferred) * Strong analytical mindset and leadership * Experience with Linux/Windows administration, DevOps, GitLab, CM, cloud infra, automation * Kubernetes and Docker (AKS, EKS, ECS/ECR) * Cloud security practices (encryption, VPC policies, bucket policies, security groups) * PKI-enabled system integration * Data engineering fundamentals (ETL, storage, databases) * System architecture and documentation * Scripting (PowerShell, CMD, Bash, Python) * Network/Transport protocols knowledge * Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) * AWS components (Lambda, IAM, ELB, RDS, S3, EC2, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Sagemaker) * AI/ML operations understanding * Strong problem-solving and decision-making * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Key requirements *
