Job description

Day to day you will be deep in the codebase working alongside product, design, and fellow engineers to design, build, and ship features that customers use every day. The role suits someone who already has a few years of professional experience under their belt, is comfortable making pragmatic technical tradeoffs, and wants more ownership than a large company would typically offer, without giving up the support of a collaborative, engineering-driven team. Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain features across the SaaS platform’s backend and frontend
  • Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code in a modern web stack
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to teammates
  • Collaborate with product and design to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a focus on root cause fixes
  • Contribute to architecture discussions and technical planning for new initiatives
  • Improve application performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Write and maintain automated tests to ensure product quality
  • Document technical decisions and system behavior for the team
  • Participate in an on call rotation to support production systems

Requirements

  • 3 plus years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern frontend framework such as React
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
  • Comfortable working in an agile, fast paced startup environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for a remote team
  • Experience with Git and collaborative code review workflows
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Benefits & conditions

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401k plan with company match
  • Flexible paid time off
  • Fully remote work with flexible hours
  • Home office stipend for remote setup
  • Paid parental leave
  • Company paid life and disability insurance
  • Professional development and learning budget
  • Equity or stock option participation
  • Virtual team building and annual company offsite

About the company

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing venture-backed SaaS company, for a mid-level Software Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team. This is a chance to build core product features at a company with strong momentum, real funding runway, and a culture that still moves like a startup, shipping fast, iterating with customers, and owning meaningful pieces of the platform end to end.
