Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Database Administrator / Software Developer to support a federal program focused on bridge inspection systems and mission-critical infrastructure data. This role will develop and maintain enterprise applications and databases supporting the Federal Lands Highway Division. This position is onsite in Ashburn, VA, with a compressed work schedule available.

Responsibilities for the Database Administrator Includes:

Develop, test, and maintain web and Windows-based applications supporting bridge inspection data.
Design, administer, and optimize SQL Server, Oracle, and Microsoft Access databases.
Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and database packages.
Perform database migrations, backup/recovery, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
Develop reports and data visualizations using Crystal Reports, Power BI, and GIS tools.
Troubleshoot application and database issues while maintaining federal security and engineering standards.
Maintain schemas, data models, data dictionaries, and technical documentation.
Support field inspection activities and data collection, requiring up to 25% travel., Database Architect, Software Developer, ASP.NET, VB.NET, Python, SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Access, Database Administration, Web Development, NBIS, NTIS, FHWA, Bridge Inspection Systems, Crystal Reports, Power BI, GIS, Data Migration, Database Performance, Public Trust, Federal IT

Requirements

Experience with ASP.NET MVC, Classic ASP, VB.NET, Visual Studio, and Python.
Strong experience with SQL Server, Oracle, and Microsoft Access.
Proficiency with JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, XML, JSON, HTML/XHTML, and VBA.
Understanding of relational database design and object-oriented programming.
Experience with database administration, patching, tuning, and maintenance on Windows servers.
Familiarity with NBIS, NTIS, SDMS, PONTIS, BrM, or AssetWise preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
