Job description

The Core Data team models and owns the structured datasets that connect Squarepoint to the outside world, effectively representing the firm’s view of reality. We partner closely with portfolio managers and investment researchers to define robust data models and build reliable data pipelines that transform and consolidate diverse sources into high-quality, centrally managed datasets.These datasets are delivered through a service-oriented platform designed for scalability, reliability, and performance. Our technology supports every stage of the investment lifecycle, from research and backtesting to trading and portfolio management.We are looking for talented software engineers with strong Python and/or kdb+/q experience to join our team. Requirements

research teams and deliver solutions that create business impactDesign, implement, test, optimize and troubleshoot data pipelines and services using Python and qWork with a range of database technologies, including PostgreSQL and kdb+Analyze, onboard, and curate vendor datasets, becoming a subject matter expert in third-party dataTake a leading role in production support and operational excellence during business hoursRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related subject4+ years of professional software engineering experienceProficiency in Python and/or kdb+/qExperience developing software in a Linux environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCuriosity and a willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and frameworksNice to have:Knowledge of SQL and experience with relational and/or time-series databasesExperience building and operating data-intensive applicationsExperience working with and analyzing financial datasets
