Job description
Are you an experienced Java developer looking to work on meaningful projects that solve complex, real-world problems?
We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join a friendly and collaborative Agile team delivering bespoke software solutions for Central Government customers.
You’ll work across the full software development lifecycle, from shaping requirements and designing solutions through to development, testing, deployment and ongoing support. What you’ll be doing
- Designing, developing and testing high-quality software solutions
- Building backend applications and services using Java
- Developing modern user interfaces with TypeScript, JavaScript and React
- Working with AWS, Azure and private-cloud environments
- Creating and improving CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab
- Contributing to technical design and architecture decisions
- Supporting and mentoring other engineers
- Working directly with customers to understand and solve their challenges
- Leading technical delivery and client engagement, depending on your experience
Requirements
You don’t need to tick every box, but we’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Strong commercial experience with Java
- Full-stack development experience using TypeScript, JavaScript and React
- Experience working with AWS or Azure
- A good understanding of automated testing, CI/CD and modern engineering practices
- Experience working across the software development lifecycle
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- An interest in mentoring others and sharing your knowledge
Previous consultancy experience would be helpful, but it isn’t essential. Security clearance
Due to the nature of the projects, you must be eligible to obtain UK security clearance. This requires you to:
- Hold a British passport
- Have lived permanently in the UK for the past five years
