Job description

  • Management, maintenance, and further development of the entire IT infrastructure at IMKAAF, including strategic planning and resource allocation
  • Independent needs analysis, cross-functional consulting, and the provision of customized IT services for the entire institute
  • Oversight, maintenance, and optimization of the database infrastructure for research data
  • Design, implementation, and continuous development of a backup/recovery management system
  • Responsibility for overall IT security and data protection
  • Development and leadership of information and training programs on IT security and current IT threats for all IMKAAF employees
  • Optional: Supporting the institute with scientific programming and software development

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training as an IT specialist (f/m/d) or an equivalent, verifiably recognized qualification
  • Several years of verifiable experience in IT support, IT administration, or network administration
  • In-depth knowledge of network technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, VLAN) as well as experience with network design and optimization
  • Proficiency with Linux-based server systems (especially Debian)
  • Extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including database architecture, migration, and performance optimization
  • Ideally, expertise in one or more programming languages (JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP, Python, LabVIEW)
  • Fluency in spoken and written German and English
  • High level of initiative, a strong willingness to learn, and excellent communication skills
