Embedded Software Engineer

Job Opportunity: Embedded Software Engineer Location: Madrid Work Model: 100% On-site Contract Type: Permanent Working Hours: Full-time About the Role At SOTEC Consulting - ASTEK Group , we are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join a strategic project within the space sector . We are seeking a professional with solid experience in embedded software development to participate in the development, integration, and validation of highly critical space systems, contributing to international programs using cutting-edge technologies in the space sector. ️ High level of English required (international project) Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain embedded software in C/C++ . - Design, implement, and optimize new software functionalities. - Integrate software components into Linux platforms. - Participate in software verification and validation activities. - Develop and maintain test automation frameworks. - Automate testing and validation processes using specialized tools. - Analyze, debug, and resolve issues in complex environments. - Prepare technical documentation and support integration activities. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Systems Engineering, Hardware, Integration, Validation, and Operations. ️ Mandatory Requirements: - At least 5 years of experience in embedded software development. - Citizenship of a European Union member state. - Holding, or having previously held, a Personal Security Clearance (HPS) . - Strong programming experience in C and C++ . - Experience working in Linux environments. - Knowledge of operating systems, software architecture, and low-level programming. - Experience in test automation and validation using Robot Framework and Selenium . - Experience in software integration, testing, and validation. Nice to Have: - Experience in space sector projects. - Experience in defence, aerospace, or other critical systems environments. - Knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI/CD). - Experience with scripting and process automation. - Knowledge of Git and version control tools. - Familiarity with quality standards and development practices applicable to critical software.
