Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will design and optimize FPGA-based embedded firmware powering high-precision sensor technology for surgical robotics, semiconductor equipment, and industrial systems. You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to deliver low-latency, energy-efficient FPGA solutions. You’ll translate models from MATLAB, C++, or Python into robust Verilog implementations and validate them with hardware test setups. Compensation / Benefits * Design, implement, and maintain FPGA Verilog code for sensor tech * Develop data processing algorithms (e.g., FIR, FFT) in Verilog from existing models * Design, simulate, and integrate FPGA designs for optimized performance * Implement low-level communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, BISS) * Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to define FPGA requirements * Hardware/software integration to ensure seamless firmware within the system * Develop Verilog test benches and perform validation with lab equipment * Participate in code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement * Support manufacturing and field teams with debugging and troubleshooting Tasks * 3+ years in Firmware engineering with Verilog design, development, and testing * Bachelor in Electrical Engineering (or related advanced degree) * Experience with Lattice or Altera FPGA platforms * Experience implementing signal processing (FFT, FIR) * Experience with CAN, BiSS, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet * Familiarity with digital/analog electronics, schematics, oscilloscopes * Proficiency with AI-assisted code writing and review tools * Excellent oral and written communication * Software configuration management (GitHub or similar) * Experience with Agile/Kanban and Jira * Occasional travel may be required Key requirements * salary range provided * medical benefits * financial and other benefits to support quality of life * incentives potential (performance-based or long-term) * equal opportunity employer * disability accommodation support
