Founding Engineer

Our client, a venture-backed AI startup, is hiring a Founding Engineer to join the team in New York City. The successful candidate will work closely with the founding team to improve the core product and build the next-generation AI-powered software that enables field-based professionals to work more efficiently, increase productivity and spend less time on administrative tasks., * Design, build and ship full-stack products and features from 0-1.

• Engage directly with customers and end users to understand needs, gather feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Translate customer feedback into impactful product enhancements.
• Support product deployments, implementations and user onboarding where required.
• Take ownership of the design, development and launch of new products and capabilities.
• Build scalable, high-performance systems that can support a growing customer base.
• Develop and integrate reliable AI capabilities into real-world products and workflows.
• Contribute across the technology stack and take ownership of the highest-priority technical and business challenges.
• Work closely with the founding team to shape engineering practices, technical architecture and product direction.

• Minimum of 3 years of full-stack software engineering experience, ideally in an early-stage startup, or a proven track record of independently building and launching products used by real customers.
• Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript/React.
• Strong understanding of AI technologies and hands-on experience with modern AI development tools.
• Proven experience developing, deploying and supporting production-grade software.
• Solid knowledge of scalable system design, data pipelines and application architecture.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Salary: $150k - $250k.
