The Database Operations Manager leads the team responsible for the successful operation, maintenance, and optimization of distributed enterprise database environments. This role oversees Tier II and Tier III support functions and ensures all activities align with established service levels, security requirements, and technical standards., The manager provides strategic and handson oversight of both Oracle (11g or higher) and Microsoft SQL Server (2008 R2 or higher) platforms., Lead and oversee the team responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise database environments Manage Tier II and Tier III database support activities in alignment with established service levels and technical standards Oversee Oracle (11g or higher) and Microsoft SQL Server (2008 R2 or higher) environments, ensuring reliable performance and availability Implement proactive monitoring, incident response, and troubleshooting procedures Direct performance tuning, capacity planning, and availability management efforts Automate maintenance tasks, diagnostic health checks, validation processes, and reporting functions Ensure database environments meet security, compliance, and documentation requirements Support modernization efforts and provide guidance on database architecture improvements Coordinate with crossfunctional teams to ensure seamless integration and support across systems
Requirements
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification Minimum of five years of database administration experience, including leading or managing database teams in similarly complex environments CompTIA Security+ certification Active Top Secret clearance
Desired Qualifications ITIL Foundations certification (or higher) Experience planning longterm requirements for database architecture, capacity, and administration Demonstrated experience conducting database auditing, quality control, security assessments, documentation, and reporting Strong background with database technologies, development methodologies, and frontend/backend database programming
