Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager, Privacy and Data Protection will lead HIPAA compliance in a growing, diverse, complex, and robust health system with multiple systems and business units. Their team of compliance professionals protects the data and privacy of OSF’s mission partners, patients and clients. This role will lead the implementation, streamlining and enhancement of data protection measures, strategies, and a governance framework to protect data in accordance with all applicable data protection laws and regulations. The Manager, Privacy and Data Protection will serve as the primary point of contact and liaison for the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) and other data protection regulators’ requests and communications. This role will also bolster data protection compliance and awareness by partnering with key leaders across the Ministry to embed data protection compliance within new and existing OSF initiatives and processes in accordance with evolving business needs.

Requirements

Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or a Juris Doctorate Experience: 8 years’ privacy and data protection experience in a multifaceted health care system Licensure/ Certification: Certified Privacy Compliance Officer (CIPP) or other data protection certifications Other Skills/ Knowledge:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
  • Strong manager who is able to delegate, hold Mission Partners accountable and develop them professionally.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize their work and others based on risk and resource constraints.
  • Strong project management and process enhancement skills., Education: Bachelor’s degree in informational technology Licensure/ Certification: IT or Cybersecurity certification Other Skills/ Knowledge: Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record systems

Benefits & conditions

Expected pay for this position is $49.73 - $65.89/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position.
