Job description

Join the Leidos Homeland Sector and contribute to a high-impact international program delivering secure, next-generation private cloud capabilities within a NATO-secured environment. These new, fully funded senior-level positions offer the opportunity to apply deep technical expertise to the design, integration, and hands-on implementation of enterprise platform infrastructure supporting a Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC).\n \n You will help deliver secure, scalable, and automated platform services across Enterprise Core Services (ECS), Client Provisioning Services (CPS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), DevOps, and Service Management Control (SMC). Working closely with infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and DevOps teams, you will support the full delivery lifecycle-from solution design and integration through deployment, testing, and customer acceptance.\n \n The positions also provide an exciting international travel opportunity, with approximately 25% travel to The Hague, Netherlands, and other NATO locations as needed to support implementation activities. This is an excellent opportunity for senior professionals interested in supporting the Homeland Sector’s mission while gaining valuable experience working directly with international customers and partners on a mission-critical global program.\n \n \nResponsibilities:\n \n \n

  • Lead the design, integration, and hands-on implementation of enterprise platform infrastructure supporting private cloud SDDC modernization initiatives.\n
  • Design and implement automated deployment of VMware-based virtualization, compute, storage, and platform services supporting Enterprise Core Services (ECS), Client Provisioning Services (CPS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Service Management Control (SMC).\n
  • Deploy and integrate enterprise platform technologies including VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, NSX, vSAN, and associated platform services.\n
  • Collaborate with networking, cybersecurity, DevOps, and infrastructure engineering teams to integrate platform capabilities into secure enterprise solutions.\n
  • Develop platform automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, or similar automation technologies to standardize infrastructure deployment and configuration.\n
  • Integrate Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) platform technologies including compute, virtualization, storage, and cloud infrastructure into secure enterprise environments.\n
  • Design and implement enterprise virtualization, resource management, clustering, high availability, and workload optimization solutions.\n
  • Develop and maintain platform architectures, engineering designs, implementation plans, configuration standards, build guides, and technical documentation.\n
  • Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, technical reviews, engineering design reviews, and cross-functional collaboration.\n
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance on platform engineering, virtualization, automation, and infrastructure modernization best practices.\n
  • Travel to NATO sites to install, configure, integrate, validate, test, and troubleshoot enterprise platform infrastructure while supporting deployment, commissioning, technical validation, and customer acceptance activities.\n
  • Support infrastructure modernization initiatives, technical planning, platform strategy, and proposal development activities.\n

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline with 8-12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience.\n
  • Active NATO Secret clearance (or higher).\n
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise virtualization and platform infrastructure solutions.\n
  • Strong experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, and associated virtualization technologies.\n
  • Experience deploying and integrating VMware NSX, software-defined data center (SDDC), and private cloud environments.\n
  • Extensive experience implementing enterprise platform automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, or similar technologies.\n
  • Strong understanding of enterprise compute, storage, virtualization, high availability, disaster recovery, and infrastructure resiliency principles.\n
  • Experience integrating enterprise platform solutions with networking, cybersecurity, backup, and cloud infrastructure technologies.\n
  • Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, networking, storage, and cybersecurity practices.\n
  • Experience operating within Agile, SAFe, or DevSecOps delivery frameworks.\n
  • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and technical collaboration skills.\n
  • Experience supporting defense, government, or highly regulated development environments.\n, * VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VMware Advanced Professional (VCAP), or equivalent VMware certification.\n
  • Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) lifecycle management and automation.\n
  • Experience supporting NATO environments and compliance frameworks.\n
  • Experience with HPE Synergy, HPE ProLiant, Dell PowerEdge, or equivalent enterprise compute platforms.\n
  • Familiarity with enterprise storage technologies, including Dell PowerStore, HPE Alletra, or equivalent SAN solutions.\n
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring, capacity management, and performance optimization tools.\n
  • Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure modernization and enterprise platform engineering initiatives.\n
