Software Engineer - GDX Order Management

Experteer Overview In this role you will help drive Costco’s next-generation retail technology as part of the GDX team. You collaborate across architects, analysts, and engineers to define and implement scalable, secure microservices and UI capabilities that enhance member experiences. You will lead and mentor others, promote best practices, and help shape the product strategy while delivering high-quality, performant software at scale. Compensation / Benefits * Collaborate with teammates to define project specs and release documentation across the product lifecycle * Conduct peer code reviews to ensure quality * Support release planning with Product Owners and teams * Own the Order Management Platform architecture for availability, reuse, interoperability, and security * Establish and maintain engineering best practices for scalable solutions * Mentor engineers and foster continuous learning * Maintain coding standards, patterns, and development processes * Pilot innovative technologies to improve member experience and operational efficiency * Perform development, optimization, and automation for the Order Management platform * Use test-driven development to detect defects early * Define specifications and documentation across all development phases * Work with product team on strategy and roadmap * Estimate, plan, and manage implementation tasks and progress * Deliver features that enhance member experience across digital channels * Build microservice components from scratch * Ensure system longevity, scalability, and quality through continuous improvement and profiling * Mentor and develop a team of engineers Tasks * 10+ years of experience with C#, TypeScript, REST, JSON, XML, YAML, GraphQL and OpenAPI * 10+ years of experience with containerized services based on .NET Core (Docker/Kubernetes) * 10+ years of experience developing and writing unit tests (NUnit or similar) * 5+ years of leading distributed engineering teams across time zones * 5+ years of building scalable cloud-native architectures * 5+ years of CI/CD tooling (GitHub, Jenkins) * 10+ years of API development focusing on security and performance * 5+ years of microservice debugging and performance testing * 10+ years of agile development experience * Strong database development experience (relational and NoSQL) * Strong communication and leadership skills * Ability to work under pressure and with limited supervision * Willingness to support off-hours on-call as needed * Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or related field (Recommended) Key requirements * paid time off * health benefits (medical/dental/vision) * 401(k) * stock purchase plan * RSU eligibility * life insurance
