Job description

Experteer Overview Senior Software Engineer in the Index Research & Design team to build scalable Python-based research platforms and production-ready software for innovative index products. You will work at the intersection of quantitative finance, software engineering, and cloud technologies, partnering with researchers and product teams to turn ideas into reusable software. The role focuses on scalable data processing, AI-enabled tooling, and modern software practices to boost research productivity and delivery. This is a mission-driven chance to shape next-generation index research at LSEG. Compensation / Benefits * Design and develop Python-based software, libraries, and reusable components for index research and product innovation * Build scalable data pipelines and analytical frameworks for large datasets and new index concepts * Develop high-performance data processing with Polars, PyArrow, and SQL * Collaborate with researchers to turn prototypes into production-ready software * Implement research capabilities on AWS and integrate solutions into enterprise platforms * Design APIs and shared services to improve cross-team collaboration * Explore AI-enabled development tools and LLM technologies to enhance productivity * Promote modern software engineering practices including automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and reproducible development * Contribute to the team technology roadmap to improve scalability and efficiency Tasks * Significant experience in software development within quantitative finance or data-intensive analytical environments * Expert Python programming and ability to deliver high-quality, maintainable software * Experience processing large datasets with Polars, PyArrow, and SQL * Experience developing applications on AWS or another major cloud platform * Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, data engineering concepts, and modern practices * Experience designing scalable analytical tools, reusable libraries, or research platforms * Interest in applying AI and LLMs to improve software engineering and research workflows * Good understanding of financial markets, index methodologies, or quantitative concepts and ability to collaborate with researchers * Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Key requirements * Annual Wellness Allowance * Paid time-off * Medical, Dental, Vision * 401(K) Savings Plan and Company match * Commuter assistance * Life insurance and disability benefits
