Sr. Software Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will advance Magnus and Goliath, two internal platforms powering workflow orchestration and large-scale data exploration. You’ll deliver full-stack work across Java, Go, and frontend technologies, while integrating AI-powered capabilities to enhance user interaction and automation. You’ll own projects end-to-end, from design through deployment and production support, tackling complex production challenges. This is a hands-on role at Viant’s Potens team, focused on modernization and AI-driven features that scale with the business. Compensation / Benefits * Maintain and modernize Magnus Java applications, REST APIs, and Goliath’s JavaScript frontend * Develop and support backend capabilities using Java and Go * Build production AI features and integrations using LLMs, tool calling, guardrails, evaluation, and MCP * Integrate with BigQuery, MySQL, GCP services, and internal APIs * Diagnose and resolve application, workflow, database, performance, and production issues * Build automated tests and deliver reliable, production-quality software * Own projects end to end, from technical proposal and implementation through deployment and production support * Participate in code reviews and contribute to sound engineering practices across the team Tasks * strong experience with Java and Go backend development * proficiency with browser-based JavaScript frontend * familiarity with data platforms and API integration * experience with building AI-powered features, LLMs, tool calling * ability to diagnose production issues and implement tests * end-to-end ownership mindset * experience with CI/CD pipelines is a plus Key requirements * fully paid health insurance * paid parental leave * unlimited PTO
