Job description

Experteer Overview As Staff Data Engineer, you will shape data platform strategy and architecture for a healthcare-focused data enterprise. You’ll lead cross-functional data engineering efforts, ensure scalable, secure data systems, and drive governance in line with privacy standards. You’ll collaborate with architecture, data science, and business teams to deliver high-impact data products and APIs. This role offers hands-on influence over data warehouses, lakehouses, and real-time processing at scale, within a collaborative, growth-minded culture. Compensation / Benefits * Act as SME and thought leader within the Data Platform Domain * Define advanced data processing structures for moving, storing, and maintaining high-quality data * Lead projects: timelines, team coordination, communication of status * Governance and security: align practices with industry standards * Contribute to overall data engineering vision and strategy aligned with organizational goals * Drive data platform capabilities: expand Data Warehouse(s) and Lakehouse for healthcare data * Configure Unity Catalog for data lineage, quality, auditability, stewardship * Develop data security protocols including PHI/PII handling * Enforce least-privilege access for implementations * Build data solutions for clients with reliability, quality, performance * ETL: implement Delta Live Tables and automate transformations * Advance Medallion Architecture for enterprise-scale data * Develop streaming and batch processing for near real-time data * Manage large, structured and unstructured healthcare data efficiently * Platform Engineering: Infrastructure as Code via Terraform and asset bundles * Collaborate on external data products to meet client needs * Architect, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines with performance monitoring * Integrate with internal APIs and external systems (Salesforce, financials, HR) * Model data: standards-based designs (FHIR, OMOP, ICD10/SNOMED/NDC/LOINC/RxNorm) * Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions * Identify process improvements to automate, optimize, and scale data delivery * Create analytics tools for stakeholders to derive actionable insights Tasks * 15+ years in design, development, and testing of Data Platform solutions (warehouses, lakes, data products) * Expert Databricks and AWS experience * Expert in relational and non-relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, DocumentDB) * Experience managing/standardizing clinical data from diverse sources * Experience building solutions on AWS * Expert knowledge of healthcare standards (FHIR, C-CDA, HL7) and clinical ontologies (ICD10, SNOMED, NDC, LOINC, RxNorm) * Expert in data modeling, data warehouses, and data lake design for enterprise/product use cases * Experience designing/building APIs, ETL, and data ingestion * Performance tuning, security, monitoring, release management * Experience with large, identified/de-identified healthcare datasets * IaC with Terraform, asset bundles, GitHub * Collaboration with Data Science teams and AI-driven initiatives Key requirements * Medical, Dental and Vision coverage * 401(k) with company matching and profit-sharing * Discretionary bonus program * PTO and holidays * Paid Parental Leave up to 11 weeks * Life Insurance & AD&D coverage
