Job description

Senior Software Engineer AI Forward Team Remote (US) Contract to Hire

Our client is a growing legal technology software company modernizing its product suite on a cloud native stack. The engineering team has gone all in on AI assisted development. Every engineer works daily with modern AI coding tools, and the team is shipping AI capability into the product today, not planning it for someday. Leadership drives the AI architecture. They need a senior engineer who builds with it.

This is not an AI research role and it is not a role for someone waiting out the AI moment. It is senior product engineering for someone who has embraced the way software gets built now: give the tools precise direction, hold the output to real standards for security and performance, verify everything, and ship.

What you will do

  • Build across the full range of a lean engineering org: bug fixes, enhancements, new applications, and custom development
  • Help consolidate multiple applications onto a unified modern stack: .NET, SQL Server, Angular, and TypeScript on AWS
  • Direct AI coding tools with specific, standards driven instructions, then test and verify that the output does what you intended
  • Contribute to AI product features as they ship
  • Communicate clearly on a small senior team where priorities evolve quickly and process stays lightweight. Kanban flow, no sprint ceremony

Requirements

  • 7 to 10+ years of professional software development with strong engineering foundations
  • Server side depth. C# and .NET preferred; strong foundations in Java or a comparable language welcome
  • Modern front end experience, ideally Angular and TypeScript
  • AWS experience
  • Real, daily fluency with AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot. You know what they are good and bad at, you give them specific direction rather than vague prompts, and you own the quality of what ships
  • Strong communication and the flexibility to thrive where the job evolves quickly

Compensation and engagement

Benefits & conditions

  • Contract to hire: contract through Trustech, converting to a full time salaried role with the client
  • Hourly rate during contract: $70 to $90 per hour W2, depending on experience
  • Conversion salary range: $150,000 to $175,000
  • Benefits: eligible for Trustech contractor benefits during the contract period, including health coverage options. Upon conversion, client benefits include PTO and healthcare
  • Fully remote within the United States
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without employer sponsorship
