Job description

  • As part of a dedicated team, the Device Technician supports the installation of plasma collection devices across CSL Plasma centers.
  • This role serves as an onsite technical resource during device installations and post implementation support.
  • The Device Technician is responsible for preparing equipment, supporting installation activities, troubleshooting technical issues, validating device readiness, and assisting center personnel throughout the installation process.
  • The role works closely with project teams, vendors, and center staff to help ensure successful minimal disruption to center operations.
  • This position requires extensive travel and handson technical support in a regulated healthcare environment.
  • This role is not responsible for ongoing preventive maintenance programs or longterm device management activities., * Supports installation activities for plasma collection devices at assigned plasma centers, including equipment preparation, setup, installation verification, and operational readiness activities.
  • Coordinates with vendors, project team members, and center staff to ensure devices are installed, configured, and operational in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Performs installation verification, operational qualification activities, functional testing, and device readiness checks to support successful center readiness.
  • Troubleshoots equipment issues encountered during installation activities and escalates technical concerns to appropriate support resources as required.
  • Provides onsite technical support during implementation, stabilization, and immediate installation activities to support center operations and business continuity.
  • Documents activities, installation results, troubleshooting efforts, and equipment status in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains accurate records related to assigned projects and communicates status, risks, issues, and opportunities to project leadership.
  • Assists with equipment logistics activities, including device preparation, inventory verification, packing, shipping, storage, and vendor return processes.
  • Provides basic operational guidance and technical instruction to center personnel regarding deployed equipment and approved operating procedures. Maintains compliance with company policies, safety standards, quality requirements, regulatory expectations, and applicable standard operating procedures.
  • Supports special projects and performs other duties as assigned to achieve business needs.

Job Specifications, * Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, climb, lift heavy equipment, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.

  • Frequently exposed to healthcare environments, hazardous chemicals, temperature variations, and bloodborne pathogens.
  • Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing assigned duties.
  • Ability to lift, move, transport, and position equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds independently and heavier loads with assistance when required.
  • Fast-paced environment with changing priorities, multiple schedules, and frequent interruptions.
  • Extended work hours, overtime, and weekend work may be required to support activities.
  • Extensive overnight travel is required, up to 80% of the time.
  • Travel may include evenings, weekends, and short-notice assignments based on schedules and business needs.

What is the team’s anticipated hiring & training timeline?

  • 8/11-8/21: Resume submittal and hiring manager review.
  • 8/24-9/4: Candidate interviews with hiring manager and additional team members.
  • 9/7-9/11: Offers extended.
  • 9/14-9/15: Offer acceptance and initiation of background checks.
  • 9/16-9/29: Background check completion period.
  • 9/30: Deadline for completion of background checks to guarantee start date.
  • 10/5: Planned travel day to Boca Raton, FL, for training.
  • 10/6 or 10/7: Two-week training program begins, followed by a third week of OJT activities within the candidate’s assigned region.

Is there any possibility for future conversion or assignment extension:

  • Yes, extensions are more likely for candidates who are willing to travel outside of their defined region.

Does this role require PPE?

  • Yes, PPE such as lab coats, gloves, face shields, or other protective equipment may be required and will be provided by CSL Plasma at no cost to the candidate or supplier.

How will travel costs be addressed?

  • Candidates will be paid for time spent traveling in accordance with applicable CSL project guidelines.
  • Mileage will be reimbursed when using a personal vehicle (distance limitations apply; rental vehicles will be provided for longer-distance travel).
  • Overnight accommodations will be provided when travel requires more than approximately one hour of one-way driving time.
  • For travel requiring more than approximately five hours of one-way driving time, flights, rental vehicles, and overnight accommodations will be provided.
  • Rental vehicles, overnight accommodations, and flights will be arranged by the internal CSL team.
  • Certain travel-related expenses may still require submission to Beeline for reimbursement (e.g., meals, mileage, fuel, and other approved business expenses).

Rate Guidance & Submission Requirements:

  • Suppliers must apply their contracted markup to the submitted pay rate to calculate bill rate
  • Final offered pay rates may be adjusted within the approved range to align with internal compensation.
  • Submit candidates within the listed pay rate range
  • Apply contracted markup to determine bill rate
  • Submitted pay rates are requests, not guarantees
  • Pay may be adjusted at offer (up or down) for internal alignment
  • All markups will be validated against supplier contracts
  • Suppliers must ensure candidates understand final pay is determined by the client and will fall within the stated range

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical, biomedical equipment, electronics, mechanical, or healthcare-related training preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in technical support, healthcare, medical device, manufacturing, field service, equipment installation, or related environment preferred.
  • Experience supporting equipment installations, implementation projects, or operational startup activities preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting technical equipment and resolving operational issues preferred.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to document technical activities accurately and completely.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, and Excel preferred.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and schedules.
  • Proficient in English
