VDI Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you support and lead virtualization efforts as a senior SME for VDI environments, ensuring secure, scalable computing for DoD customers. You will guide strategic decisions with partners and oversee onboarding of new enclaves, balancing rapid delivery with rigorous security standards. You collaborate with Tier III teams and vendors to address outages and optimize policies. This position combines hands-on technical leadership with documentation and mentoring of junior staff, in a fast-paced, onsite setting in Reston. Compensation / Benefits * Provide senior-level expertise for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments * Lead as Subject Matter Expert on VDI issues and needs * Support ticket escalation during major outages * Provide strategic input with development partners on emerging needs and tech advancements * Oversee onboarding and standup of new enclaves/environments * Interact with Tier III support and evaluate vendor products * Develop and monitor policies for allocation of computing resources * Create and maintain detailed documentation and SOPs * Apply security settings and best practices * Coach and review work of junior staff Tasks * Bachelor’s degree * 8+ years of related experience in Windows/Linux server environments * Extensive experience with VMware and VDI * Experience with Horizon * Active Top Secret/SCI clearance (or ability to obtain interim) * IAT Level II * DoD clearance eligibility (U.S. Citizenship) * Experience in virtual environments and Windows/Linux administration Key requirements * Medical, dental & vision * 401(k) plan with pre-tax and Roth options * Life insurance * Short and long-term disability * Health Spending Account (HSA) * Employee Assistance Program
