AI Platform Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will anchor the AI Platform Engineering team, shaping cloud infrastructure, AI serving, and developer tooling to support MassMutual’s AI initiatives. You will define architecture, drive critical platform initiatives from concept to production, and set engineering standards. You’ll partner with AI engineering, product, and cloud teams to deliver enterprise-grade capabilities and improve platform reliability and developer experience. This is a hands-on leadership role with a clear impact on scale and governance. Compensation / Benefits * Define architectural direction for cloud infra, AI serving layers, and developer tooling; translate into a prioritized roadmap * Lead design on critical platform components (LLM gateway, multi-tenant compute isolation, model serving, enterprise integration) * Write ADRs that codify engineering standards and patterns * Serve as technical escalation point and conduct design reviews with deep feedback * Own end-to-end technical execution of major platform initiatives from scoping to production * Lead platform reliability strategy (SLOs, observability, incident reviews) * Design governance and compliance controls (data residency, access management, audit logging, AI usage policies) * Drive cross-team alignment with AI, product, and cloud engineering; communicate trade-offs to senior stakeholders * Raise technical craft through thorough design reviews, docs, and hands-on pairing while avoiding direct management Tasks * 5+ years in platform, infrastructure, or SRE with senior IC/tech lead scope * CKA or CKAD or equivalent AWS certifications * 3+ years cloud-native architecture experience (Kubernetes at scale, managed services, networking, multi-tenancy) * 3+ years ownership of complex, multi-month platform initiatives from whiteboard to production Key requirements * competitive pay and benefits * bonus opportunities * learning content on Degreed * opportunities for professional growth * inclusive, diverse culture * strong ethical business and stability
