Site Reliability Engineer

Experteer Overview As a Site Reliability Engineer at Thales in Austin, you ensure high availability and performance for a public-cloud telecommunication solution. You own solution service availability and collaborate with security and cloud teams to apply best practices. You’ll design scalable infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, while leading blameless postmortems and incident responses. This role combines automation, observability, and capacity planning to support growth and reliability in a mission-critical product. Compensation / Benefits * Design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes * Develop automated CI/CD pipelines via GitLab * Define and monitor SLOs/SLIs and manage error budgets * Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations and perform deep-dive incident troubleshooting * Conduct system performance analysis and capacity planning * Implement monitoring and observability using Datadog * Lead blameless postmortems and implement long-term fixes * Collaborate with Cloud Security on security best practices and access controls * Interface with stakeholders to define solution improvement plans * Own solution service availability Tasks * Engineer or equivalent * 5+ years of experience * Java development * Familiarity with Public Cloud (GCP, AWS), containers and microservices (Docker, Kubernetes, Java) * CI/CD and automation (Jenkins, GitLab, Helm) * NoSQL database * GCP cloud architect certification is a plus Key requirements * Elective Health, Dental, Vision * FSA/HSA * Voluntary Life and AD&D * Retirement Savings Plan with company match * Company paid holidays and PTO * Life Insurance, Disability, Well-being Program
