Senior Security Engineer, YouTube

Experteer Overview In this role you strengthen the security of Google’s YouTube platform by proactively identifying and fixing vulnerabilities. You’ll collaborate with network, software, and mobile teams to harden systems, analyze risk, and drive incident response. You work at scale to protect sensitive data and ensure a safe operating environment for users and developers. This position combines hands-on engineering with security leadership to reduce systemic risks and enable secure, ongoing product development. Compensation / Benefits * Analyze vulnerability trends to reduce systemic risks and implement secure-by-default frameworks * Perform security design reviews for new YouTube features and distributed systems; leverage LLMs to automate remediation of gaps * Lead the technical response and post-mortem analysis for security incidents across YouTube products * Research and mitigate platform-specific risks within the YouTube iOS and Android ecosystems; review mobile designs and code for security vulnerabilities (Objective-C, Swift, Java, Kotlin) * Partner with mobile teams to integrate security tools and processes throughout the application development lifecycle Tasks * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience * 5 years of experience with security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling * 5 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages * 5 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols * Experience with vulnerability analysis and remediation (preferred) * Experience with mobile application security in Android or iOS (preferred) * Experience with Objective-C, Swift, Java, or Kotlin (preferred) Key requirements *
