Epidemiology/Surveillance Data Scientist Lead

Experteer Overview As Epidemiology/Surveillance Lead, you guide scientific direction for public health analytics and data modernization programs. You will shepherd multidisciplinary teams to deliver surveillance datasets, analytic products, and dashboards that support population health decisions. Your work spans advanced epidemiologic analyses, methods, QA, and dissemination to leadership and stakeholders. This role combines strategic advisory, technical execution, and thought leadership within Guidehouse’s Health AI/Data practice. Compensation / Benefits * Serve as the lead epi and surveillance SME across complex analytics initiatives * Direct surveillance strategy, epidemiologic methods, data interpretation, and scientific QA activities * Oversee creation of surveillance datasets, analytics, dashboards, and dissemination materials * Lead advanced analyses, modeling, trend analysis, and population health measurement * Perform QA reviews to ensure rigor and reproducibility of data and findings * Advise clients on surveillance strategy, data modernization, and analytic best practices * Direct multidisciplinary teams of epidemiologists, analysts, data scientists, statisticians, and informaticists * Translate analytical findings into strategic recommendations for executives * Support modernization through automation, cloud technologies, and AI-enabled capabilities * Lead scientific dissemination including publications, conferences, and briefings * Support business development, solution development, and thought leadership in Health AI/Data practice Tasks * US Citizen or Permanent Resident; ability to obtain and maintain Federal or DHS Public Trust * Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience in epidemiology, surveillance, public health analytics, research, or health data science * Experience leading large-scale surveillance or epidemiology programs and multidisciplinary teams * Proficiency in epidemiologic methods, public health surveillance, statistics, and interpretation of complex health data * Experience with SAS, R, Python, SQL, or equivalent analytical platforms Key requirements * Medical, Rx, Dental & Vision Insurance * 401(k) Retirement Plan * Parental Leave * Vacation and holidays * Short-term & Long-Term Disability * Tuition Reimbursement and Learning Opportunities
