Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with modern programming languages including Python or JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience working with JIRA, Redmine, or other development environment task manager/trackers.
  • Experience building and implementing systems that support both custom and off-the-shelf hardware features.
  • Hands-on experience and is familiar with one or more of the following software/tools:

  • Experience with building APIs and services using REST, Hadoop, Map Reduce, Spark, etc.
  • Experience with build automation technologies like Maven, Jenkins, etc.
  • Experience with Linux (preferred) or Windows operating systems., * Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
  • 5 to 10 years of related software engineering experience.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with the design and development of modern, web-based use interface and applications development and a related understanding of key technologies such as APIs that interface with hardware devices.
  • Understanding or exposure to FPGA programming.
  • Knowledge of wireless technology, digital/analog communications, or RF.
  • Experience with Test Automation and Continuous Integration.

TRAVEL

GCI’s systems are distributed regionally throughout the Continental United States (CONUS), and require quarterly updates to software systems, and occasionally hardware, as well. The successful candidate is able to travel at least four times a year to CONUS sites for two (2) to four (4) days to perform the scheduled maintenance.

*A candidate must be a US Citizen and requires an active/current Secret clearance and be willing to upgrade to a TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance. GCI will work with the candidate to transfer and sponsor their clearance.
