Job description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Lead Developer to support a large-scale technology transformation program. This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role responsible for providing direction across backend engineering, driving architectural excellence, and guiding development teams building high-performance, scalable, API-driven platforms. The ideal candidate will act as the lead backend engineer across multiple microservices within a capital markets and securitization application domain., * Act as the lead backend engineer across multiple microservices, translating business and technical requirements into standardized designs.
- Define and promote reusable components, libraries, and architectural patterns to ensure consistency in code design and quality.
- Actively develop features, build proofs of concept (POCs) for new technologies, and guide feature teams to adopt approved patterns.
- Take hands-on involvement with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline management, backend deployment processes, and maintenance.
- Enforce best practices related to code quality, security, exception handling, and performance, leading rigorous code reviews and mentoring developers.
- Work closely with product owners, architects, and other teams to refine requirements and ensure technical solutions align with product goals.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Helios.
Requirements
- 10+ years of backend engineering experience using .NET and C# in enterprise environments.
- Proven ability to lead backend development teams within complex, multi-stream transformation programs.
- Strong expertise designing and building scalable RESTful APIs and microservices using Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Deep experience with Dapper ORM, SQL Server, and structured data formats including JSON and XML.
- Hands-on experience with messaging and event-driven architectures (e.g., Solace, SignalR).
- Experience implementing distributed caching platforms such as Apache Ignite or MemSQL.
- Practical experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Helios, and Git-based workflows.
- Advanced proficiency in unit testing, mocking, and Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices using xUnit or NUnit.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present architecture decisions and mentor engineers.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in financial services or capital markets, including trading, risk, clearing, or settlement platforms.
- Exposure to front-end frameworks such as React or Angular to support collaboration with full-stack teams.

This role is remote, but candidates are expected to work during Eastern or Central Time (EST/CST) hours for operational efficiency and coordination with project teams.
