Data Engineer

Experteer Overview In this contract role, you will help build a data platform to enable Modern Sales, focusing on scalable data pipelines and AI-enabled analytics. You will work in an agile team shaping cloud-backed solutions that connect websites, back-end systems, and third-party data sources. You’ll design data architectures, implement secure code, and lead data-driven AI/ML components while mentoring peers. This is a digitally ambitious project with real-time and batch processing at scale, offering substantial impact across the organization. Compensation / Benefits * Produce high-quality, secure, and maintainable code and configurations * Collaborate with the development team to deliver best-in-class software in an agile environment * Design and query relational databases, and develop batch processes * Build interfaces connecting websites, backend systems, and external cloud solutions * Gather requirements from business partners and translate them into practical solutions * Design/develop/review AI components to meet functional and technical specifications * Implement automated unit and UI tests * Develop large-scale AI data platforms for real-time and batch processing * Lead and mentor junior engineers, ensure version control and agile practices * Support IT architecture reviews and technology standards * Manage data integration, big data, security, and governance requirements * Architect secure external connections to data sources and ensure data governance Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 5-8 years of experience or 9-12 years of combined education/work experience * 5+ years of RDBMS experience * 5+ years hands-on programming in Java 8, C#, Node.js, Python, SQL, or Unix shell/Perl * Experience with Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence, GitHub or similar SDLC tools * 3-5+ years consulting or client delivery on Azure * Experience with JSON/XML data structures and structured/unstructured datasets * Strong SQL skills, Azure SQL DW, data modeling, ETL techniques * Experience designing data pipelines using modern tools (Azure Data Factory, Event Hub, etc.) * Knowledge of ETL tools and cloud-native Azure services (Functions, Service Bus, Cosmos DB) * Experience with data security, encryption, governance, and compliance processes * Understanding of AI/ML lifecycles and applying data-driven solutions Key requirements * Remote work * Medical, dental & vision * 401(k) Retirement Plan * Life Insurance * Short and long-term disability * Health Spending Account (HSA)
