Saga & API Engineer

Experteer Overview As Senior Saga & API Engineer, you design and implement agent-ready APIs and reliable business workflows that power our AI-enabled Miles platform. You will translate saga specifications into robust, typed solutions using Java, Quarkus and/or Python, ensuring deterministic, transactional behavior. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end capabilities that integrate Miles with enterprise systems and AI workflows. This role sits at the core of our Data & AI initiative, shaping secure and testable AI-enabled automation at scale. Pay / Benefits * Design, build and test agent-ready APIs exposing Miles capabilities to AI/workflow platforms * Implement typed, maintainable saga-based solutions from approved specifications using Java, Quarkus and/or Python * Ensure deterministic business flows with validations, guardrails, transactions and failure handling * Create robust REST contracts and integrations between Miles, Temporal, agent runtime and other enterprise systems * Collaborate with Business Analysts, AI Engineers, Workflow Engineers and Test Automation Engineers to deliver end-to-end capabilities Tasks * Strong backend software engineering experience with Java and/or Python in production * Experience designing REST APIs and integrating with complex enterprise systems * Proficiency with typed contracts/schemas and automated testing (unit/integration/contract) * Understanding of transactional systems, business rules and saga/workflow patterns Key requirements * Competitive salary * Meal allowance per working day * Company car or mobility budget * Fully covered private health insurance * Hybrid working and flexible hours * Structured onboarding with dedicated coach
