Principal Data Engineer - Data & AI, Marketplace

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead data engineering efforts across MPDAI, shaping data foundations and interfaces that enable cross-track data discovery and trust. You will tackle hard data problems, from Spark/Flink pipelines to complex modeling decisions, and define practical data infrastructure standards. You’ll ensure data investments align with product needs and drive collaboration with track leaders. This is a chance to influence data-driven Traveller experiences at a global scale, within a diverse, multi-track team. Pay / Benefits * Design and build scalable data models, pipelines, and interfaces to enable data sharing across tracks * Tackle complex data engineering challenges including Spark/Flink pipelines and data modeling decisions * Define and validate data infrastructure standards in collaboration with architects and leads * Coordinate with product teams and engineering managers to ensure data investments meet product needs * Architect data foundations that stay relevant as MPDAI evolves across tracks and priorities * Act as a data engineering role model and mentor within the craft and community Tasks * 12+ years of software development experience * minimum 3 years in a lead/architect role * Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or related field * Experience with modern Data Management systems, architecture and approaches (Cataloging, Technical Lineage, Data Quality, Knowledge Graphs) * Experience applying compliance and regulatory requirements (SOx, GDPR, DMA) * Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders * Knowledge of Data Governance and tooling (DAMA) * Strong knowledge of data quality requirements and implementation methodologies * Excellent English communication skills Key requirements * global impact * annual paid time off * parential leave * hybrid working * ergonomic support * discounts & wallet credits
