Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join a major organisation delivering a large-scale international digital commerce programme. This is a high-priority hire supporting the continued expansion of digital and marketplace capabilities across multiple international territories. You’ll take ownership of end-to-end solution architecture, working across cloud, integration, E-commerce and enterprise platforms to design scalable solutions that support both customer-facing and partner-led channels.

Role and Responsibilities: Define end-to-end solution architectures across complex digital platforms Lead high-level solution design across multiple systems and applications Architect integrations between internal platforms and third-party partners Support international E-commerce and marketplace expansion Design scalable solutions across B2C and B2B environments Define integration patterns across APIs, event-driven and messaging technologies Translate business requirements into practical target and transition architectures Work closely with Engineering, Product, Architecture and Delivery teams Identify technical dependencies, risks and architectural decisions across multiple workstreams Assess technology and supplier options and provide clear architectural recommendations

Requirements

Essential: Strong commercial experience as a Solution Architect within complex enterprise environments Excellent cloud architecture experience - ideally Azure Strong systems integration and API architecture experience Experience designing end-to-end solutions across multiple platforms Retail and/or E-commerce experience Marketplace or third-party platform integration experience Experience working within international commerce environments Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Highly Desirable: B2C digital commerce architecture experience Marketplace and fulfilment integration experience Experience supporting international expansion programmes Exposure to B2B commerce architecture Supply chain, logistics or warehouse integration experience Experience working across multiple international territories

Technology Environment You don’t need to be hands-on across every technology, but exposure to environments incorporating the following would be beneficial: Azure | Kubernetes | Java | Spring Boot | TypeScript | APIs | Kafka | IBM MQ | MongoDB | Redis | SQL Server | CI/CD | Observability

This role would suit an experienced architect who can quickly understand a complex environment, take ownership of architectural decisions and work pragmatically with delivery teams to keep programmes moving
