AWS Software Developer (Cloud / DevOps) w/ CI Poly

SBS is partnering with Amazon Web Services to staff senior engineers who blend application development with cloud and DevOps engineering on a high-visibility federal program. You will own services end-to-end from writing the code to deploying,monitoring, andoperatingit in production.

This role requires a current TS/SCI with CI Polygraph and is staffed onsite at Fort Meade, MD. You will work alongside AWS Professional Services and the customer’s mission application teams on systems where uptime, performance, and security matter.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable AWS-native applications and services.

• Build andmaintainCI/CD pipelines that enable safe, frequent, and auditable deployments.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.

• Develop APIs, microservices, and event-driven components using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, andEventBridge.

• Ensure applications meet production-readiness, security, and performance standards before release.

• Containerize workloads with Docker andoperatethem on Amazon ECS or Amazon EKS.

• Diagnose and resolve issues across development, integration, and production environments.

• Collaborate cross-functionallywith AWS, customer architecture teams, and other vendors.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, design reviews, and code reviews.

• Continuouslyoptimizesystem performance, cost, and operational efficiency.

• U.S. Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.

• Six (6) or more years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial work in cloud environments.

• Proficiencyin at least one modern language: Python, Java, JavaScript / TypeScript, or C#.

• Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, VPC, and IAM.

• Demonstrated experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines.

• Working knowledge of Docker and container-based deployment.

• Comfort in Linux environments with shell scripting (Bash) skills.

• Strong full-lifecycle ownership from requirements through production support.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation, stakeholder coordination, and customer-facing delivery.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Multi-project consulting orprofessional-servicesbackground.

• Federal ordefense-customerdelivery experience.

• Infrastructure-as-Codeexpertise(Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation).

• Kubernetes / EKS experience.

• DevSecOpspractices: Static Application Security Testing (SAST) / Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) integration, software supply chain, image hardening.

• Observability tooling: CloudWatch,OpenTelemetry, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana., * AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional
