Engineering Director, Product Security, Core

Experteer Overview In this role, you will lead a 100-person, global organization to drive secure-by-design development platforms and code integrity at Google. You will shape the multi-year strategy, aligning security roadmaps across Product Area CISOs and engineering leaders, and foster a culture of engineering excellence and psychological safety. You will implement memory-safe, cryptography-first approaches and policy-driven security to scale defenses as the AI era evolves. This position blends deep technical execution with strategic leadership to protect users and enable developer velocity. Compensation / Benefits * Define and own Google’s code integrity and software supply chain security strategy * Lead a 100-person, multi-site organization across US, Zurich, and Singapore * Develop and drive a multi-year secure-by-design roadmap and initiatives (e.g., safe-by-default platforms, Cryptographic Hygiene OKRs) * Promote safe coding practices, cryptographic hygiene, and secure supply chain across tech stacks * Partner with Product Area CISOs and engineering executives to align on security roadmaps * Balance security guardrails with developer velocity; navigate trade-offs between security and speed * Lead company-wide security initiatives and legacy migrations; advocate for developer productivity and user safety * Mentor and coach across the organization to sustain engineering excellence and psychological safety Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field * 15 years of software engineering experience with at least 8 years in a technical engineering role * Experience with protecting systems * Experience in vulnerability management, posture management, or risk analysis Key requirements * bonus target (30%) * equity * benefits * salary range
