Job description

  • You will develop and maintain automated solutions for ingesting data of various formats (e.g. CSV, JSON, Parquet, HTML) from external and internal sources into our data infrastructure
  • You will analyse data to identify new hypotheses and confirm or disprove them by statistical experiments
  • You will conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover insights, monitor data quality, and communicate findings to the team
  • You will support the development, training, and evaluation of predictive models by preparing features, applying machine learning techniques, and tracking performance
  • You will collaborate with experienced data scientists, contribute ideas, and stay up to date with industry trends and best practices

Requirements

  • Academic Background You are an enrolled student in Munich, studying Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a related field with a background in Artificial Intelligence, and you are excited about data science, statistics, and machine learning
  • Python & ML You bring proficiency in Python and core machine learning concepts, with experience using libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, and numpy
  • Data Visualization You have experience with data visualization tools such as matplotlib, seaborn, Plotly, and Streamlit, and with exploratory data analysis
  • Mindset You are extremely motivated, passionate about learning, and bring a can-do attitude to the team and the business
  • Communication You communicate fluently in English and appreciate cultural diversity

About the company

Data shapes every decision at SIXT, and as our new Working Student Data Science (m/f/d), you’ll be right at the heart of it. Based in Pullach near Munich, you’ll dive into real datasets from across the business, build automated pipelines, run statistical experiments, and help train predictive models that actually go into production. You’ll work alongside experienced data scientists who’ll challenge you, teach you, and expect you to bring your own ideas to the table.
