Senior Data Modeler - Enterprise Data Warehouse - Remote

Experteer Overview In this Senior Data Modeler role, you will own the design and governance of data models supporting the Illinois EDW and modernization initiatives. You’ll bridge current Teradata systems to cloud platforms, collaborating with data architects, engineers, and business SMEs to deliver scalable, compliant data solutions. You’ll shape data architecture, modeling standards, and governance while enabling analytics across Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial healthcare data. This is a chance to influence large-scale health data strategy and modernization. Compensation / Benefits * Lead data architecture, modeling, and data movement initiatives to support analytics across Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial healthcare data * Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models across staging, integration, and semantic layers * Develop and implement dimensional, OLAP, OLTP, and Data Vault patterns with SCDs, surrogate keys, and data classification * Document data architecture and maintain metadata, data dictionaries, and lineage to support a single version of the truth * Contribute to migration of legacy Teradata models to cloud platforms (Azure Synapse / Databricks / Snowflake) and modern cloud target-state designs * Collaborate with ETL architects, SMEs, and other stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions and ensure data quality and regulatory compliance * Ensure data strategies comply with HIPAA, PHI, and SOX requirements; oversee data mapping, interfaces, and analytics governance * Define keys, indexes, partitioning, constraints, and referential integrity to guarantee data quality and performance * Provide testing criteria and ensure fidelity and performance of data architecture during delivery * Communicate status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and project teams Tasks * 10+ years of IT experience * 7+ years in data modeling, strategy, and roadmaps for large health entities * 5+ years of HIPAA/PHI/PII healthcare data security knowledge * 5+ years of Erwin Data Model or comparable tools * 5+ years of healthcare data domain knowledge (Medicaid, Medicare, Commercial) * 5+ years of SQL with complex analytics, DDL/DML/DCL, optimization * 5+ years of Data Quality, Governance, Metadata Management, MDM, and related areas * Expertise in OLTP/OLAP, Star/Snowflake schemas, SCDs, and data classification Key requirements * remote work flexibility * comprehensive benefits * equity stock purchase * 401k contribution * career development opportunities * incentive and recognition programs
