Job Description: EMSS is seeking experienced software engineers to support multiple software product deliveries, system modernization efforts, and future growth initiatives. The candidate will provide technical leadership, take ownership of software products, and drive development across the full software lifecycle from requirements through deployment and sustainment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership across the team, mentor junior engineers, and leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software design, implementation, testing, debugging, and delivery while maintaining high-quality engineering standards.
  • Strong technical leadership and ownership mindset.
  • Experience across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Strong software architecture and system design skills.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Active Secret clearance.

Preferred Skillsets:

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong Java, C++, Java Spring Boot, REST API development experience.
  • Multi-threaded application development.
  • Database design and integration experience.
  • Linux development environment experience.
  • CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance, including Jenkins.
  • Containerized software development and deployment.
  • Kubernetes and Cloud and hybrid-cloud deployment experience.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • DoD, SATCOM, networking, gateway, or telecommunications experience.
  • Docker and Kubernetes administration.
  • AWS GovCloud or cloud-native application experience.
  • DevSecOps and automated testing frameworks.
  • Cybersecurity-aware software development.
  • Experience with distributed systems and enterprise-scale applications.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Virginia is $117,000 - $218,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays.
