Job description

Experteer Overview You will lead the architecture and development of VAL/SAL abstractions that connect autonomous driving software with real-world hardware. You’ll shape scalable interfaces across sensors, vehicles, and computing platforms, enabling real-time autonomy at scale. The role combines hands-on coding with systems design to improve performance, reliability, and integration across diverse vehicle configurations. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, production-quality software that meets automotive standards. This is an opportunity to push the frontier of robotics and self-driving technology. Compensation / Benefits * Lead VAL and SAL teams to design and implement software abstractions and plugin frameworks for real-world vehicle and sensor interfaces. * Enhance software integration across varied vehicle and sensor configurations with efficient, user-friendly solutions. * Develop component abstraction layers, sensor/actuator interfacing, and inter-process data sharing for scalable autonomous driving. * Solidify frameworks, validate improvements via real-world and synthetic testing to boost performance and utilization. * Conduct in-vehicle testing, analyze sensor and vehicle data, and support autonomous drive missions. * Create unit tests and documentation, assess software quality, and propose corrective actions per industry best practices. * Deliver production-quality C++ code with parallel computing via GPU (CUDA) for accelerated workloads. * Adhere to safety and quality standards (MISRA and automotive-grade practices). Tasks * MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related Engineering fields (or equivalent experience) * 15+ years of relevant industry experience and 8+ years of people leadership * Excellent C and C++ programming skills * Experience developing and debugging multithreaded/distributed applications * Strong knowledge of parallel and distributed architectures and debugging techniques * Experience with Linux, Android, and/or real-time operating systems * Experience with robotics/remotely sensing frameworks such as ROS and/or multimedia frameworks like GStreamer * Proven ability to write low-latency, high-performance code * Strong communication and analytical skills * Self-motivated and a strong team player Key requirements * equity * base salary 320,000 USD - 488,750 USD * benefits
