Job description

Experteer Overview In this Senior Data Engineer role, you will build, scale, and operate the telemetry data platform that powers connected vehicle analytics and software-defined vehicle innovation at global scale. You’ll work within a data platform focus, delivering reliable pipelines, data products, and observability for enterprise telemetry data. You’ll partner with product, analytics, and engineering teams to enable AI, quality engineering, and operational decision-making. The position emphasizes platform reliability, automation, and cost-efficient scalability, with a strong impact on vehicle data-driven initiatives. Compensation / Benefits * Build and operate the telemetry data platform at global scale * Develop batch and streaming data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, Event Hubs, and cloud-native tech * Create production-grade data products supporting analytics, AI, and engineering * Implement data quality, validation, monitoring, and observability capabilities * Design scalable, resilient, cost-efficient data systems * Build tooling and frameworks to simplify data asset development and deployment * Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize distributed workloads * Improve platform reliability via CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and best practices * Collaborate with product, analytics, AI, and engineering teams to deliver trusted telemetry data * Mentor and elevate engineering practices across teams Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related field * 5+ years in large-scale data platforms or distributed data engineering * Hands-on Spark experience and distributed data processing * Python or Scala proficiency * Expert-level SQL * Experience with Databricks or similar platforms * Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP) * Streaming tech experience (Event Hubs, Kafka, Pulsar) * Production data pipelines engineering and observability capabilities * Data quality controls, validation, and reliability standards * Performance, scalability, and cost optimization of distributed workloads * CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and automation practices * Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills Key requirements * health and wellbeing benefit programs * retirement savings plan * tuition assistance programs * paid vacation & holidays * GM vehicle discounts * life insurance
