Job description

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a high-performing technology team focused on building scalable data and analytics solutions. This role will work closely with application teams, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to design, develop, and support cloud-based data products that enable better business decisions., * Design, develop, and support scalable data engineering and analytics solutions within Microsoft Azure.

  • Build and maintain batch and real-time/streaming data pipelines.
  • Develop data ingestion, transformation, modeling, and consumption layers using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, Event Hubs, and Azure Functions.
  • Partner with application teams and Product Owners to translate business and data requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participate across the full development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, CI/CD, deployment, performance tuning, monitoring, and production support.
  • Work within an Agile/DevOps product model with end-to-end ownership of data products.
  • Establish coding standards and engineering best practices around security, privacy, performance, and data quality.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor other engineers.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, data engineering, SQL, Python/Spark, and modern data pipelines., * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent experience considered.

  • 3+ years of data engineering/software development experience within Agile and DevOps environments.
  • 3+ years of SQL and data analytics experience.
  • 3+ years of cloud/data lake experience, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake/Blob Storage, and Azure DevOps.
  • Strong development/scripting experience with Python, Spark, and SQL.
  • Experience building batch and/or streaming data pipelines.
  • Experience with CI/CD and source control using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or Terraform.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams., * 5+ years of data engineering/software development experience.
  • Experience with Azure Event Hubs, Azure Functions, Azure Data Explorer, or Azure Stream Analytics.
  • Experience with data platforms such as Teradata, Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, Cassandra, or MongoDB.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Grafana, or other BI/analytics tools.
  • Data governance experience with tools such as Alation, Informatica, Monte Carlo, or BigID.
  • Teradata Vantage development/administration experience.
  • Airline industry experience.
  • Azure and/or Spark certification preferred.
