Job description
- Provides on-site combat systems engineering and technical support for SSDS and associated combat system interfaces.
- Assesses combat system installation and integration progress.
- Conducts initial combat system light-off activities, including power, connectivity, operability, reliability, and safety verification.
- Conducts combat system testing in direct support of the Government Test Team.
- Validates, monitors, and troubleshoots SSDS Program Load Baselines in relation to hardware/software configuration and capabilities/limitations.
- Requires understanding and operability of Linux-based command line/tooling, networking/processing equipment, Cyber/Information Assurance compliance, and radar (e.g. SPY6) interfacing.
- Supports in verifying shipbuilder compliance requirements for SSDS and associated combat systems and providing technical recommendations as needed to the Government.
- Conducts ship checks, supports ship trials, and participates in combat system certification and readiness events.
- Supports system readiness evaluations and tracks deficiency identification and correction through trial cards, Contract Deficiency Reports (CDRs), and related documentation.
- Reviews Contract Data Requirement Lists (CDRLs) and related technical deliverables for accuracy and implementation against combat system test and integration requirements.
- Provides technical management support and design/configuration review for the shipbuilder and government representatives.
Requirements
R&P is looking for a professional who wants to join our team. We are a mid-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients. Seeking a Combat Systems/SSDS test engineer to support the PMS 377 LPD program in a fast-paced, dynamic environment., * Requires familiarity with test equipment such as, Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, and Phase Sequence Indicators.
- Prior experience with LPD Platform Auxiliary Test and Evaluation experience is a plus.
- ACAT Level I and II LPD program experience of at least 5 plus years.
- Navy Class A/C school experience is preferred.
- Secret clearance.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching for extended periods (up to 8 hours) without undue fatigue.
- Capacity to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds (or as specified by the employer) with or without assistance, and to move heavy materials and equipment safely.
- Muscular strength and endurance to support the body for long periods without fatigue, including using core and lower back muscles to maintain balance and posture
