Endpoint / Intune Engineer

Rapid Strategy is seeking an Endpoint / Intune Engineer to support a multi-phase endpoint modernization and identity transformation initiative for a nonprofit organization. This role will focus on Microsoft Intune administration, Entra ID integration, endpoint compliance, CIS baseline implementation, endpoint telemetry validation, and secure device configuration across Windows, macOS, and mobile platforms.

The engineer will work closely with client IT Operations and security leadership to support the migration from legacy Active Directory management toward a fully Entra-joined environment while improving endpoint visibility, compliance, and operational security posture., This is a contract engagement supporting a defined client project with an anticipated duration of approximately 9 months. The role is structured as a 1099 contractor engagement with an opportunity for extension based on project needs and performance., * Configure and support Microsoft Intune policies and endpoint management capabilities

• Support migration activities related to Entra ID joined devices

• Configure endpoint compliance policies for: *

• encryption
• antivirus
• firewall
• OS compliance
• device health

• Implement and validate CIS Benchmark Level 1 configurations across: *

• Windows 11
• macOS
• Windows Server 2016
• Validate deployment and telemetry health for:
• CrowdStrike Falcon
• Microsoft Defender
• Support BitLocker and FileVault encryption implementation and validation
• Assist with endpoint onboarding and enrollment validation for Windows and macOS devices
• Configure and validate Conditional Access policy enforcement in partnership with security leadership

• Build and maintain operational dashboards and reporting related to: *

• compliance status
• encryption status
• agent health
• endpoint visibility
• Assist with troubleshooting Intune enrollment and endpoint compliance issues
• Support golden image configuration activities for Windows and macOS devices
• Document endpoint configuration standards and operational procedures
• Participate in project meetings, status updates, and coordination with NACD IT Operations

Do you have experience in macOS support?, * Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Intune in enterprise environments

• Experience supporting Entra ID / Azure AD joined environments
• Experience configuring device compliance policies and Conditional Access
• Experience deploying or supporting Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and/or CrowdStrike Falcon
• Experience implementing endpoint hardening standards using CIS Benchmarks
• Experience managing Windows 11 enterprise endpoints
• Experience supporting macOS endpoint management
• Experience with endpoint encryption technologies including BitLocker and FileVault
• Experience troubleshooting endpoint enrollment, compliance, and device management issues
• Familiarity with endpoint telemetry, compliance reporting, and operational dashboards
• Strong understanding of endpoint security best practices and modern endpoint management

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting nonprofit or mid-sized enterprise environments
• Experience working in hybrid Microsoft environments transitioning toward cloud-native management
• Familiarity with Kaseya VSA or similar endpoint management platforms
• Experience supporting mobile device management (MDM) initiatives
• Experience supporting endpoint migration or refresh projects

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on endpoint engineer who is comfortable operating in a lean environment and can independently manage endpoint configuration, compliance, and troubleshooting activities while coordinating closely with client IT Operations teams. The role requires strong practical experience with Intune, endpoint security tooling, and modern endpoint management practices rather than deep architecture or consulting-focused experience.

This is a fully remote position open to candidates located within the United States. U.S. citizenship or existing authorization to work in the United States is required. Visa sponsorship, including H-1B sponsorship, is not available for this role.
